One Express To The Rescue For World Rally Delivery
FIA World Rally Championship tyre supplier DMACK turned to Europe’s leading palletised distribution network when an emergency delivery of rally tyres was needed for Rally Italia Sardegna this weekend.
The fifth round of the world series takes place across the tough gravel stages on the Mediterranean island of Sardinia and, when DMACK received a flurry of last minute orders, it turned to the Allnet network to ensure its specialist gravel tyres made it to the event on time.
Allnet is an alliance of Europe’s top four distribution networks and Italian partner One Express was on hand to safely deliver the goods. In just five days, 120 world-class rally rubber tyres made their way from DMACK’s headquarters in the UK to the rally base in Alghero.
The express delivery was safely completed by Pisanu Trasporti, the locally-based member of the One Express network. They rushed through the last leg from their base in Ittiri to the world rally service park before the DMACK team fitted them to wheels for the rally teams.
The event kicks off on Thursday night with a ceremonial start and street stage in Cagliari before drivers head north on Friday to Alghero. The rally finishes on Sunday after crews have raced over 400km on the tough roads across the island. The rally is known for its huge challenge with loose gravel and abrasive bedrock set to test DMACK’s gravel tyres to the limit.
